Rosacea Information |
|
Rosacea is a relatively common skin condition that affects more than 14 millions Americans. Though there are variations of rosacea, all types of the condition cause extensive face, ear, neck, and chest redness; many sufferers will also experience acne, burning, edema, and spider veins. Even though substantial information on rosacea treatments exists, the majority of people with the condition have not sought this helpful advice.

Rosacea Education |
A common side effect of the rosacea condition is acne. Though they appear at the same time, acne and rosacea require different types of treatment. While acne treatment must deal with oil glands, rosacea treatments must take care of issues relating to the vascular network. Due to the different types of treatment that are necessary, patients should consult with a doctor or dermatologist to determine which combination of treatments would be both safe and effective.

 |
Fortunately for sufferers of rosacea, various treatments exist that can help manage and eliminate the symptoms. The symptoms of rosacea can be treated and dealt with using both topical treatments and the use of lasers. Topical treatments, including Metrogel®, Metrocream® and Metrolotion®, and Noritate®, have all proven to be effective. On the other hand, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laser skin resurfacing are both laser therapies that can help deal with the red, blushed skin rosacea leaves behind.
